Negril
A fun filled day at the famous Margaritaville with seven miles of white sand beach. Snorkeling, Jet ski and other water sports (all optional, not included in cost). Appleton Estate and Run Tour
If you love Rum then you are sure to be fascinated with the the Appleton Rum Estate.You will get an overview of the history of the Estate,see how rum is made and sample different types of rum on the way.Be sure to also check out the scenery on the way to the estate.The estate is located in the Nassau valley which sits at the foot of the Santa Cruz Mountain and is watered by the black river that flows through it.You will see remnants from the history of the estate including equipment and machinery.also on site is a gift shop where you can purchase Appleton Rum. After ascending from the hills of Spring farm you now enter the Rose Hall Resort area.You are then driven into Montego Bay for further information and shopping expedition.The tour continues on the Hip Strip where you can stop for picture taking. There is a local craft market where you can purchase Jamaican handicrafts and straw merchandise. from there you will be taken to the Richmond Hill great house that sits over looking the city of Montego Bay. Your final stop is optional. For those of you who are a little more adventurous and looking for a challenge, climb on your own up the rugged right side of the falls.If you prefer to meander to the top of the falls without getting wet, there is a staircase right next to the falls. For those of you who prefer a more sedate visit, there is an inviting beach at the base of the Falls where the river and ocean meet.Next stop, after a scenic 15 minute drive, is the famous White River. On your journey to this inviting river you will have the opportunity to view “behind the scenes” Jamaica while touring the local neighborhoods of Ocho Rios. Upon arrival at White River, you will find a changing area, life jackets, and a shop.The thrills begin when you plop down into a tube outfitted with a bottom to begin your breathtaking journey through rushing rapids and placid pools as you continue to drift along the White River which takes approximately 45 minutes. Falmouth is a classic example of Georgian architecture, unparalleled in the entire Caribbean. Laid out in the 1770′s by Edward Barrett, owner of Cinnamon Hill, which still stands on the Rose Hall Golf Course, the town homes were built by the owners of the surrounding sugar plantations as places to retire to when the harvest was in and they were ready for a ‘social season’ of balls and visiting back and forth. The scale of the 18th century town is remarkably intact. Many of the buildings are dilapidated, but there has been little development and not only have large buildings survived but many delightful smaller one and two room cabins and even detached kitchens. An afternoon ramble around Falmouth’s classic six square block grid will bring into sharp focus the history of the area at the height of the wealth and power of the West Indian Plantocracy.
